I am a picture drawer, not a story writer, but I gave it a go anyway!

Two of my characters, Blikkies and Baby (feature picture), are going on their first adventure, an excursion in the cable car up the mountain.

I decided to start with the well-known legend of captain van Hunks and the devil smoking up a cloud over Table Mountain. I interwove this legend with Blikkies’ excursion. I have to have my story edited and checked before I plan the picture book layout and illustrations.

It will be A5 and it will be the central part of my first activity kit. Some of the pages will be printed in full colour and some just with black outlines – to be coloured in.

I will add in a few other activities into the package, like a “dot-to-dot”, a maze or a “spot the difference”, there will also be a cut-and-fold colouring-in sheet.

Its a start!
