I still have a few vibrant pastel drawings looking for loving homes.
I love the process of making marks on paper and with the pastels I give myself permission to work completely intuitively. I never start with a fixed image in mind. Soft pastels are available in the most intense colours and it is an absolute feast working with them. The images are exuberant and vibrant and they reflect my enjoyment of the process.
The drawings start off almost like blind drawings, I use left and right hands and the picture gets worked on from all sides until something emerges that piques my interrest. The images that grow out of the collection of marks and colours mostly seem to become some kind of animal, bird or fish.
It is and indulgent and fun process and the result is always a surprise. These pastels will brighten up any room and make a great present for a special birthday or anniversary – or simply spoil yourself and get your own original piece of artwork!
I sell them framed, a neat white box frame presents the pictures the best way. The price varies on framing the cost.
