My Tonto-girl!
Tonto is a big part of our household. She thinks she is our boss. Her world revolves around food (any food!), a stick that can be thrown, chicken, barking at the postman, walkies, waiting for food and sleeping. She is amazingly active for a doggie that is almost 12 years old, it must be the Border Collie and Terrier mix! Lately we have had some hot dogs (literally) as a result of the hot summer weather. When Tonto is totally relaxed, she shuffles and wiggles on her back and and makes growling sounds.
As far as the cats go – their world revolves around eating and sleeping. Occasionally as entertainment for Pepsi.
I did do some work this week! Here are some pictures: it is a bit of a mixed grill and I think that a little exhibition in a few months time would be good. With Snacks and wine of course.

Completed mixed media paintings
This is what evolved from the “playing” painting I blogged about last week. A zebra-like goat and a lion-like sheep. This is the fun part of not working towards painting a pre-planned creature. The process surprises and energises me and I have already started preparing more scribbles and collage “base” paintings to be developed into, as yet, unknown creatures. I am quite please with the purple cat and the silly big-headed doggie. I am still deciding what to use the images for … perhaps a little silly-story book for kids.

playing, playing and more …
Some more examples of “play-time” in the studio. I am using arcrylic paint, arcrylic clear glaze, tea leaves, tissue paper, glue, coloured cellophane, marker kokis and anything that will stick to paper! They are all A3 size and hopefully my Left Brain will loosen up enough to start coming up with some great funky ideas!
The idea is to not really think about making something specific and not worrying about what the end result is going to look like. This is quite ahrd and can be frustrating because our minds are programmed to work according to a plan and to receive good results for the effort done.
