What a great session last Saturday!
We discussed the importance of having a good and interresting balance between light and dark, which in turn will make for an interresting picture. Then we made charcoal sketches, exploring values from black through to white.
We had a look at the colour wheel and different categories of colur: warm colours, cool colours, primary, secondary and tertiary colours, complimentary and neutralised colours.
Then we made a still life painting (acrylic on paper) to explore all we had learnt.
Well done everybody!
In our next session we will:
1. make more charcoal drawings as this is an easy way to learn about black and grey,
2. do another acrylic painting to further our knowledge of colour and colour mixing.
There are a few possible dates for our next class in October, I will choose the one where most of you can come.
Here they are:
7 or 14 or 28 November.
Until next time!
