My new work

by Janette Wright / Monday, 08 September 2014 / Published in Uncategorized

I have been working on a few different projects in the last while.

I am exploring the concept of windows and the passing of time. The pictures are basically landscapes, inspired by photos I took on a visit to Kolmanskop near Luderitz in Namibia.

I have been sketching with charcoal on thick paper, experimenting with what creative damage I can do to the surface with various tools. It is messy and very rewarding!

Another exciting project is  a commissioned painting of a beautiful house in Simonstown.

So far I have made 3 cameo watercolours and a detailed  pencil drawing of the house. I still have to complete the final painting of the house, it will be watercolour and pencil.
