It gives me great pleasure every single day. Little Red catches my eye in all the different lights of the day, and is a wonderful focus for contemplation. I love that it is a real painting, that I can see the layers and scratches and mark making. Also really love the red against the muted greenish grey background. It, like many of your current paintings, evokes memories of place and lanscape. Journeys both physical and emotional.
I also love the reactions that people have to it. Often it is surprising how few people seem to be familiar with a real painting so they are curious and a little timid.
Little Red lives like a member of the household – thank you!

Painting sold!

This is the painting that won me the third prize in the art.b Gallery Vuleka Competition last year. I am so pleased that it has found its forever home. Paintings come alive when they hang and are surrounded by people who (hopefully!) enjoy looking at them.

Saatchi online
I have recently found a great online platform to offer my work for sale.
It is an easy platform to navigate and super helpful with working out commissions and shipping. They also offer printing services – if someone wants a reprint of one of the paintings.
I am still uploading artwork, but am pleased so far with the process. Lets hope that some US dollars come my way!

this is how we roll….
I have been called brave, I have been called a colourist and I have been called scruffy.
Well, I love doing what I do and as a bonus quite a few other people (not just my mother and my red-headed auntie) seem to enjoy what I do.
Here is a sequence of four images to illustrate how I am reworking and old painting into a new one – its not finished yet – but soon will be!
I painted Blue Moon in 2015. I do like the painting, but it was standing gathering dust in my studio did not do anybody any favours – plus my style has evolved in the past three years.
… and such a very, very nice big canvas – how could I resist!

Review : “LISTEN”
“LISTEN”
A wonderful lady and friend of the Art.b Gallery in Bellville called Marguerite, wrote this lovely short piece about my painting “Listen”.
From long ago an organic murky khaki, one by one pastel
markings transcending ticking time:-
a day, a week, a month, a year.
Framed in obsessive metronome rhythms adding ochre
ouroboros and avocado green grape vine:-
a contemplative, bald, lavender head of a woman emerged.
Light blue echoed in royal blue deep shades.
Ocean filled:-
a measured left eye, a measured left ear, a measured neck,
Reading towards the end neon tickled stripes, marked recreation as
the start of a new era.
